Sales Unit Transformation

Posted in Management Talk in June 2017

We held our North American Regional Sales Meeting in our Troy headquarters during the week of June 5th and I am very energized by what our Seco sales team and channel partners are accomplishing together in the field. While sales figures themselves are motivating, there is also much excitement and activity around Solid Tools, Custom Products, the formation of our Aerospace Team and last but not least, our Sales Unit Transformation Program.

As explained during our conference in Las Vegas early February, the goal of Seco’s Sales Unit Transformation is to transition to an opportunity oriented sales team and increase results for our channel partners and Seco, by qualifying accounts carefully, mutually agreeing on where to spend our resources together to grow sales and increase market share. Let me reiterate the fact that this does not mean that we are abandoning any of our customers or leaving our distributors on their own when dealing with smaller end users. Through increased communication, common focus, understanding and reinforced training, Seco will provide the support our channel partners need.

By now, all of our sales regions have been through the account selection process and focused on accounts where we believe we can grow faster together. In the coming weeks, if they have not already done so, our regional managers will reach out to you to get confirmation that the correct accounts were selected and get a clear confirmation and agreement on these accounts.

A training and support plan should also be developed jointly at this time to keep your sales staff up to date.

I am excited to see the results of our Sales Unit Transformation and confident that it will lead both Seco and our channel partners to greater success. I am looking forward to embarking on this journey together!
