Niagara Reynoldsville Plant Switches to Renewable Energy

Posted in Sustainability in May 2020

During the Seco co-worker seminar in January we spoke a lot about sustainability and how to minimize our CO2 footprint. Globally, Seco identified two production sites that were contributing significantly to our CO2 emissions, one of which was the Niagara plant in Reynoldsville, PA.

At the 2020 Distributor Conference in Las Vegas in early February, many of you were able to see how sustainability is an integral proponent of the Seco vision.

In late February, we were excited to receive this update from Rob Keenan about recent updates at the Niagara production facility:

“I proudly inform you that the Reynoldsville Management Team…has negotiated and signed green energy agreements with 2 electricity suppliers. The first agreement will guarantee 100% renewable green energy effective March 2020 through November 2020. Effective December 2020 and until December 2023, our new supplier contract…will supply 100% renewable green wind energy to the Reynoldsville site. This accomplishment will significantly contribute to our overall objective of reducing CO2 emissions. It has been exciting and rewarding for the Reynoldsville team to aggressively pursue and achieve this important sustainability objective.”
