Hey Everybody!

Things are looking up! The mood in the market is getting better, orders are improving, and January showed a year over year sales improvement. I am feeling optimistic!

I’ve been on the Seco team for one year now and it’s been an interesting, challenging year. To all of you who have brought me your frustrations, I thank you for your trust in asking for help. Also, I can’t thank the Operations team enough for all the assistance they provided to resolve the issues we have faced. They are a remarkable group of people who want to make things better for everyone.

2017 promises to bring new challenges and opportunities and this is the stuff which gets me most excited. Each challenge we face is a challenge our competitors might be ignoring.

We have several big initiatives going on this year in Operations:

Seco Way of Working (S–WoW)

This project kicked off in March and will continue until late 2018. It includes a completely new ERP system with new global information flows. This will help all of us have good, accurate information at our fingertips, a project that is certain to have a big effect on how confident we all feel when we’re in front of our customers.

Specials Lead-Time Reduction

This is ongoing at ALL custom products facilities around the world. We recognize the need to be the first one on the spindle with the best solutions. Our customers are moving faster and so will we.

Fix the Failures in the Basics

This is an effort to get things right the first time and to have a clear way to correct when things don’t go as planned.

Finally our ambition is to Network ourselves into the global organization like never before; we want everyone to know who we are and what we’re about here in North America.
